Actriant Research Lab

Applied AI Research & Systems Engineering

Bridging the gap between theoretical AI research and real-world enterprise application. Actriant Research Lab is an independent incubator for open-source frameworks, algorithmic research, and technical whitepapers.

About the lab

A lab that has to survive contact with operations.

Research at Actriant is not a side essay. Enterprise deployments set the agenda: what broke in production, what a model could not carry, where a process still needed a person. Lab work then goes back the other way. Discoveries ground Actriant’s B2B advisory in methods that can be cited, not slogans.

That loop is the lab-to-market flywheel. Commercial delivery pays for rigor. The lab keeps commercial advice honest.

The lab is also an official umbrella. Independent scholars, graduate students, and AI researchers can publish technical reports under Actriant Research Lab instead of an informal personal blog, with affiliation they can put on a preprint or a CV.

How it works

What a contributor keeps, and what the lab provides.

The model is meant to be readable before anyone sends a proposal.

100% IP ownership

Contributors keep full copyright and intellectual property in their work. Actriant receives a non-exclusive license to host and feature the paper.

Formal affiliation

Accepted researchers may list Research Affiliate, Actriant Research Lab on preprints, CVs, arXiv, and academic submissions.

Open collaboration

The lab supports projects in agentic architectures, data engineering methods, and applied machine learning, including code and whitepapers.

Pipeline

From outline to a paper with a citation.

Four steps. No surprise about when affiliation starts or who owns the work.

  1. 01

    Proposal submission

Submit a brief outline, methodology, or draft. Scope, method, and intended contribution should be clear.

  2. 02

    Review and onboarding

We review for technical clarity, scope, and feasibility. Approved authors receive Research Affiliate status.

  3. 03

    Drafting and peer review

Authors develop the framework, code, or whitepaper with feedback from fellow lab affiliates.

  4. 04

    Publication and distribution

The paper is hosted on Actriant with author attribution, citation tools, PDF download, and distribution support.

Framework · In progress

daRSVP: Dynamic Adaptive Rapid Serial Visual Presentation

  • Actriant Research LabResearch Affiliate, Actriant Research Lab
#Frameworks#LLMs

Word-by-word presentation that varies dwell time with surprisal and syntactic friction, instead of a fixed WPM clock. A conceptual extension of established RSVP, not a consumer reading app.

Framework · In progress

SIGNAL: System Integrated General Natural Automatic Lookup

  • Actriant Research LabResearch Affiliate, Actriant Research Lab
#Frameworks#AgenticAI#LLMs

Push querying from conversation context: parallel web and vector search, then ranked information delivered without a typed question. For fact checking, sales, negotiation, and translation.

Whitepaper · In progress

Presentation cost in serial reading

  • Actriant Research LabResearch Affiliate, Actriant Research Lab
#Frameworks#LLMs

Why fixed-speed RSVP can raise throughput while comprehension falls, and how adaptive timing should follow processing cost.

Technical Report · In progress

Retrieval quality in operational knowledge bases

  • Actriant Research LabResearch Affiliate, Actriant Research Lab
#DataEngineering#LLMs

How retrieval-augmented systems behave on internal documents once they leave the demo: chunking, citation, access control, and failure modes.
